Privacy policy
This site is run by me, Agnieszka Shkonda, an individual (I’m a Staff Product Designer; you can find me on LinkedIn). I’m the data controller for what’s described below. Here’s, in plain words, what happens to your email address when you ask for the playbook and when you get emails about new predictions.
What I collect
Only when you subscribe to email updates and get the playbook as a welcome gift, I collect:
- the email address you type in;
- the date and time of your first and latest request, and how many times you’ve asked;
- when the playbook was last sent to you, and whether sending worked;
- the web address of the page (or referring page) you came from;
- your browser’s user-agent string;
- the campaign tags on the link you arrived through, if it had any (
utm_source,utm_medium,utm_campaign,utm_content,utm_term); - a private random code, which makes the unsubscribe link in my emails work for your address only;
- whether you are currently signed up for email updates and that you ticked the updates box, when, which version of the wording you saw (a short label), and when you unsubscribed, if you do.
That’s all. There are no accounts, passwords, payment details or names.
I only collect data from people who type their own address into the form, and the form checks that it looks like a well-formed address. But anyone can type any address. If you received the playbook because someone else entered your address, you can ask me to delete it (see Your rights).
Why
I use this information for three things:
- to email you the playbook PDF, which is the welcome gift for subscribing (this is carrying out your request, and my legitimate interest in answering it);
- to send you occasional emails about updates to the site, such as new predictions. This is based on your consent. You give it by ticking the box next to the form (“I agree to receive email updates about this website from Agnieszka”) and submitting the form. You are signed up from that moment, and the email you get with the playbook has an unsubscribe link. The box is unticked by default, and the form is an email-updates sign-up, so the playbook is sent only with it. Every update email has an unsubscribe link. You can withdraw your consent at any time, using the unsubscribe link in any newsletter or by emailing the contact address below. Withdrawing does not affect the playbook you already received, or the lawfulness of anything I sent before you withdrew;
- to keep a record of who asked and how they found the site (my legitimate interest in understanding which channels bring readers).
I don’t sell your data, and I don’t share it with anyone other than the services listed under Who handles it. If I ever want to email you about anything else, I will ask first.
If you asked for the playbook before the newsletter existed, you did so on the understanding that your address was kept only to send you the report. You are not signed up to the newsletter and I will not add you to it because of this update. You will only get it if you tick the box on a later sign-up.
Who handles it
A few services process your data on my behalf. These are the only ones, and I don’t share your data with anyone else:
- Google. Your address is written to a Google Sheet, and the email is sent from a Gmail account using Google Apps Script, with the PDF held in Google Drive. Data may be processed in the United States; Google relies on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses for such transfers.
- Hostinger. The address the playbook is sent from, horizonaiplaybook@product-future-lab.com, is a mailbox hosted by Hostinger, and replies to it are read there.
- GitHub Pages (GitHub, Inc.). The site itself is hosted there. Like any web host, it receives visitors’ IP addresses and request details in its server logs. I don’t have access to those logs.
Cookies and tracking
The site itself sets no cookies, and its fonts and images are served from the site, not from a third party. I may add a privacy-friendly, cookie-free analytics tool later; if I do, I will update this page first.
One section embeds a YouTube video, using YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). It loads when you scroll near it. When it does, YouTube (Google) receives your IP address and the usual details of the request, and may store data under its own privacy policy. If you would rather not have that happen, you can simply not scroll to that section, or block the embed in your browser.
How long
I keep your details until you unsubscribe or ask me to delete them. Every update email will have an unsubscribe link, or you can email me at the address below. When you unsubscribe, I keep your address on a suppression list, together with the fact that you unsubscribed, so that you are not added again by mistake.
Your rights
Under the GDPR, the UK GDPR and similar laws, where they apply to you, you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of your data (access);
- have it corrected;
- have it deleted;
- ask me to restrict how I use it;
- object to my using it;
- receive it in a portable format;
- withdraw consent, where I’m relying on it.
To use any of these, email me at the address below. I’ll reply within one month. You also have the right to complain to your national data-protection authority.
